WHY DONATE?

We are staffed entirely by volunteers. We have no premises to maintain. About 98% of all your donations go directly to giving these children a genuine chance in life.

Our major projects are designed to bring additional income to Aschiana. Self-sufficiency is important to us and them.

WHAT IS ACHIEVED

Many former street working children – boys and girls equally – have gone on to enjoy higher education, good employment and use their voices to promote a peaceful future for Afghanistan.

NO LIMITS

Some have gone to university. Some have even returned to Aschiana, as Technology Tutors, Teachers and Office Staff. Some have attained National Sports teams, others popularity as artists and musicians. Many more have gained employment in the community, started their own small businesses and become employers themselves.

HELP KEEP THIS SUCCESS STORY GOING

Aschiana, “The Nest” in Dari, is an enduring humanitarian success story. That’s why we offer them our support. We visit them in Afghanistan and can say categorically, your kindness really does make a difference. Thank you.

CONTINUING PROGRAMMES:

These programmes and many more will not survive without our support. Please help us to do this by giving whatever you can. It will make a difference.

A HOT MEAL A DAY FOR EACH CHILD

It costs .25p to provide each child with a hot meal. £5 will feed a child for 20 days. £10 will feed a child for 40 days. A monthly donation means they do not go hungry. Thank you for whatever you can give.

TENTED SCHOOLS IN THE IDP CAMPS

Aschiana provides education and a hot meal a day to more than a thousand girls and boys living in Internally Displaced Person’s Camps, for families displaced by the fighting in Helmand Province. These people have lost everything they owned and worked for in their home region.

ESSENTIAL STAFF SALARIES

A Cook for the Hot Meal a Day Programme, a Driver for deliveries, 2 Gatekeepers manning the school gates day and night, and 2 Cleaners keeping the school clean and hygienic. Each one earns £220 per month to support themselves and their families in the capital city, Kabul.
